Unit price compare

Bigger packages are often cheaper per ounce, but not always. The way to know is the unit price: the price for one ounce, one roll, or one of whatever you're buying.

Many stores print the unit price on the shelf tag. If they don't, enter the price and size of two packages here.

We filled in example numbers. Change them to match your situation.

Like ounce, roll, pound, or count. Use the same one for both.

  • Package A

    33.3¢ per ounce

  • Package B

    27¢ per ounce

    ✓ Better deal

Package B is cheaper per ounce, by about 19%.

Only buy the bigger size if you'll use it before it goes bad. Wasted food isn't a deal.

Check the store brand, too. It's often cheaper for the same thing.
